What is Hosting and Why Do I Need It?
All websites must use “hosting” system, which stores your website, provides access to the Internet, provides access to all the information and applications that are part of your site, and manages all traffic to and from it. Without a “host” for your website, no one would be able to find or use it.
We offer Business Quality web hosting as well as Premium Business hosting services. Both are good options, though our Premium Hosting is faster, even more secure, and includes a full 30 days of backups – a very nice insurance policy should that rare major problem occur. Your website will be set up on your hosting provider of choice.
What Email Services Are Available?
Both of our hosting options include email addresses based on your domain name, such as “email@example.com”. We can also set up your site to use a large third party email provider such as Microsoft 365 if you prefer. Your email addresses can be set up as full-fledged email boxes or as simple email “forwards”, which many customers prefer.
All of our websites include up to 4 email addresses based on your domain name, such as “firstname.lastname@example.org”. We can set up more for you, though there is a small additional charge for additional addresses beyond 4.
Your email addresses can be set up as full-fledged email boxes, each with a specific username and password so you can retrieve email using Outlook Express or other email software. Our email boxes also allow you to retrieve your email via webmail, so whether you’re at home or away on a trip, if you can access the Internet you can get your email.
We can also set up your email addresses to “forward” to another email address, such as your current email address. This is especially popular because it allows you to retrieve your email just as you do now without the complexity of setting up multiple “accounts” in your email software. Many people these days use free email services such as Google’s Gmail, and that can be a great option for forwarding. You can present yourself and your company to the world with professional email addresses based on your domain name, while you send and retrieve all your email through Gmail.
Once you have a domain name it can be set up to point to your hosting provider.
